State Road (SR) A1A/NE Ocean Boulevard from NE Shore Village Terrace to south of SR-732/Jensen Beach Causeway Boulevard

The in-person public meeting will take place at the Martin County – Commission Chambers (First Floor) located at 2401 SE Monterey Road, Stuart, FL 34996. The latest social distancing guidelines will be followed.

Both formats will consist of a formal presentation followed by an open discussion. Staff will be available to answer questions and provide assistance. Comments and questions will be answered to in the order received. If your question is not responded to during the event, a response will be provided in writing following the meeting. Questions and comments may also be submitted prior to the meeting by e-mailing the Project Manager.

Purpose of the Project: The intent of the project is to improve rideability by milling and resurfacing the existing pavement and to address localized ponding with drainage improvements.

Start Date: Spring 2025

Completion Date: Summer 2026

Estimated Construction Cost: $4.3 million

Scope of Work:

  • Install traffic calming measures throughout the project limits including:
    • Rumble strips on the approaches of the existing roundabout at SR A1A/NE Ocean Boulevard and SR 732/Jensen Beach Causeway Boulevard
    • Installing speed feedback signs
    • construction of a roundabout at the intersection of SR A1A/NE Ocean Boulevard and NE Rigels Cove Way
  • Repave and restripe the existing roadway within the project limits
  • Correct longitudinal slopes and cross slopes where feasible
  • Pedestrian signalization and lighting improvements at signalized intersections
  • Replace and upgrade existing curb ramps to comply with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards
  • Minor shoulder widening will be completed to increase the paved width to 5-feet at selected locations
  • Upgrade signing and pavement markings

Scope of Work:

  • Work will be done in phases to reduce the effects of construction on the community
  • No construction will be allowed during weekends
  • Access to properties adjacent to the corridor will be maintained throughout construction
