Palmetto Park Road, from State Road 7 to NW 2nd Avenue

Restrictions:

The outside eastbound lane, between Veterans Park and Lyons Road, and State Road 7 and the Boca Rio Service Road, may be closed, around-the-clock, Monday through Saturday, for concrete pouring operations, drainage work, and pathway removal and repaving operations. The turning lane at the entrance to Walmart is closed for drainage work. However, access to Walmart will remain open. During this time, pedestrians may utilize the temporary pathway within the Right-of-Way (land) as the pathway detour route. Work will be done in sections, with the location of the closures shifting as needed within these zones. In conjunction with these closures, the eastbound pedestrian access from State Road 7 to east of Veteran’s Park (approximately a ½ mile), is closed through September 2018. Pedestrians may detour to the north side of Palmetto Park Road to access the pathway along the westbound lanes. Pedestrians heading eastbound along the detour route may then cross to the south side of the roadway at Veteran’s Park, and continue eastbound through the work zone. Between Majestic Woods Way and Lyons Road, there is a temporary pathway installed within the Right-of-Way, for cyclists and pedestrians. Please note, work is taking place in the vicinity of the bus stops at Boca Del Mar Drive and Beracasa Way. Bus stops remain open, but for the safety of pedestrians, bus riders, and the construction crews, please remain outside the closed work zone. Beginning Monday, Sept. 24, the sidewalk on the south side of Palmetto Park Road, from SW 9th Avenue to SW 7th Avenue, may be closed for reconstruction through October 2018. During this time, pedestrians may detour via the existing sidewalk on the north side of the roadway, between SW 9th Avenue and SW 4th Avenue. Please note, driveways will be reconstructed in half sections, in order for access to be maintained at all times. The Palm Tran bus stop at SW 9th Avenue is also expected to be closed for one day during this time. However, the bus stop at SW 7th Avenue will remain open.
