The purpose of the project is to extend the service life of the existing roadway within the defined project limits through resurfacing, restoration, and rehabilitation (RRR) improvements.
This project aims to improve overall roadway conditions and maintain a safe and efficient transportation corridor for all users.
Repave the existing roadway to improve the resiliency of our infrastructure
• Add “shared lane” pavement markings to help alert drivers that bicyclists may be present and are allowed to use the outside traffic lane
• Upgrade existing pedestrian curb ramps to add detectible warning surfaces where they are missing to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) at various intersections
• Install high emphasis crosswalk markings at Cocoanut Row
• Reconstruct damaged sidewalks to improve mobility access
• Replace and upgrade signs and pavement markings to meet current standards and increase reflectivity
• Work will be done in phases to reduce the effects of construction on the community
• Temporary lane closures will be required during non-peak hours
• Pedestrian traffic will be maintained at all times
• Access to properties along the corridor will be maintained during construction
