The purpose of this project is to improve the flow of traffic through the intersection of Jog Road and Southern Boulevard.
Widen the westbound Southern Boulvard off-ramp to Jog Road to include two left-turn lanes, a through or left-turn optional lane, a bicycle ‘keyhole’ lane, and a right-turn lane. Replace the traffic signal in the northeast quadrant, modify drainage and lighting incidental to the widening. Upgrade pedestrian signalization and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) curb ramps to the latest ADA requirements.
No full roadway closures are anticipated. Temporary lane closures may be needed during construction and will occur at night. Temporary pedestrian paths and detours will be provided for work impacting existing sidewalks. Access to businesses and residences will be maintained during construction. A public meeting (Construction Open House) will be held prior to construction. Detailed information about to how to keep informed of potential construction impacts will be provided at that meeting.
