The purpose of the project is to extend the service life of the bridge by performing repair and rehabilitation, and to enhance roadway safety along S.R. A1A/Ocean Boulevard Bridge # 930060 over the Boca Inlet.
•Provide engineering analysis and design services for the rehabilitation of the bridge
•Implement effective countermeasures to address scour at Bridge Piers 5, 6 and 7, and at the movable span piers and within navigable channel
•Replace electrical system fully
•Replace pads that support the weight of vehicles and other loads on the bridge
•Install a 5-foot bicycle-friendly surface on both sides of the road
•Rehabilitate the bridge fender system
• Complete Bridge Closure will be allowed for a total construction time of 60 days. A detour will be provided. Lane Closure will be permitted for 10 days for the direction bore installation.
• Access to properties on both sides of the bridge will be maintained during construction
