The purpose of the project is to improve multimodal accessibility by removing the existing median and widening the sidewalk along the east side of the corridor.
• Remove the existing center median/two-way left turn lane.
• Construct a 10-foot shared-use path along the east side of the corridor.
• Reconstruct the existing sidewalk along the west side of the corridor.
• Upgrade pedestrian signals, signing and pavement markings to latest standards.
• Add new School Zone from 39th Street to 41st Street.
• Upgrade drainage infrastructure to accommodate the proposed improvements.
• Replace corridor lighting.
• Work will be phased to minimize community impacts.
• Temporary lane closures and off-peak detours expected.
• Pedestrian access maintained throughout construction.
• Access to businesses and residences maintained at all times.
