Project Purpose

To enhance pedestrian and bicyclist mobility, and improve safety along the corridor.

Scope of Work

• Repave 36th Street from North Australian Avenue to North Flagler Drive.
• Provide shared-use paths and sidewalks.
• Provide bicycle lanes within project limits.
• Replace existing bridge #937704 over Carver Canal with a new 102’ bridge.
• Upgrade sidewalks and curb ramps to comply with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
• Install pedestrian lighting within project limits.

Construction Impacts

• 36th Street will remain closed for vehicular traffic, from Australian Avenue to Townhouse Court, during bridge construction.
• Detours for vehicular traffic will be provided. Pedestrian access across Carver Canal will be maintained at all times.
• Roadway work will be done in phases to reduce the effects of construction on the community.
• Temporary lane closures to build the improvements will be completed during non-peak hours
• Pedestrian and vehicular access to all properties will always be maintained.
