Project Purpose

The main purpose of the project is to proactively address future traffic impacts at the SR-9/I-95 Interchange at Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard.

Project Improvements

• Mill and resurface the existing asphalt pavement within the project limits
• Widening Palm Beach Lakes Blvd to add auxiliary lanes. and the I-95 off ramps to provide additional turn lanes.
• Address drainage impacts due to widening.
• Replace lighting and Signal mast arms impacted by widening & upgrade existing span wire assemblies to mast arms.
• Upgrade existing pedestrian curb ramps and install detectable warning surfaces.
• Lighting retrofit at the signalized intersections and replace existing luminaires with LED luminaires on the two off-ramps.
• Signing & Pavement Marking improvements including replacing existing OH signs with new OH signs.
• ITS improvements include two new ADMS.

Construction Impacts

• Work will be done in phases to reduce the  effects of construction on the community.
• Vibration and noise from construction activity.
• Temporary lane closures to build the improvements will be completed during non-peak hours
• Pedestrian and vehicular access to all properties will always be maintained
