Project Purpose

The purpose of this project is to provide additional capacity on Port St. Lucie Boulevard to
meet anticipated population and employment growth and improve access for bicycle and pedestrian users.

Project Improvements

  •  Widen Port St. Lucie Boulevard from a two-lane undivided roadway to a four-lane divided roadway separated by an 18- foot wide median.
  •  Add 8 to 10-foot-wide shared-use paths on both sides of the roadway to create options for efficient travel choices like walking or biking which reduces traffic congestion, benefits the environment, and improves community health.
  •  Replace and upgrade signs and pavement markings to meet current standards and increase reflectivity.
  •  Upgrade the lighting system to enhance safety for nighttime users of the corridor.
  •  Beautify the corridor within the project limits by installing landscape and hardscape improvements

Construction Impacts

  • Work will be done in phases to reduce the effects of construction the community
  • Another public meeting (Construction Open House) will be held prior to construction.
  • Detailed information about how to keep informed of potential construction impacts will be provided at that meeting.
