Project Purpose

The purpose of the project is to reconstruct and restripe to provide additional capacity on Port St. Lucie Boulevard, and improve traffic operations as well as pedestrian and bicycle mobility along the corridor.

Project Improvements

• Reconstruct and widen Port St. Lucie Boulevard from a two-lane undivided roadway to a four-lane divided roadway separated by 18-foot wide median.
• Add 8 to 10-foot-wide shared used path on both sides of the roadway.
• New signing and pavement markings.
• Upgrade lighting system.
• Landscape and hardscape.
• New drainage system.
• New bridge with aesthetic railings at E-84 Canal.

Construction Impacts

• Work will be done in phases to reduce the effects of construction on the community
• Construction of Gig Place will occur during the school recess period.
• Temporary detours for work on west and east side of the corridor to facilitate construction of new lanes.
