Detailed information about how to keep informed of potential construction impacts will be provided at that meeting.
Repave and restripe the existing roadway to extend the service life of the pavement, enhance safety for motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists while updating crosswalks, ramps and pedestrian signals to comply with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA).
PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS
• Repave the existing roadway to improve the resiliency of our infrastructure.
• Replace and upgrade signs and pavement markings to meet current standards and increase reflectivity.
• Add shared lane markings or “sharrows” to the outside lanes to indicate to motorists that cyclists should be expected in the travel lane.
• Modify curb ramps to comply with ADA to improve accessibility for users with disabilities.
• Make minor repairs to the existing box culvert which carries the North Fork of the Middle River under the intersection of Oakland Park Boulevard and Andrews Avenue.
• Work will be done in phases to reduce the effects of construction on the community.
• Temporary lane closures and detours required during construction and will be performed during off-peak hours.
• Pedestrian traffic will be maintained at all times.
• Access to businesses and residences will be maintained during construction.
