The purpose of this project is to preserve and extend the service life of the existing pavement through milling and resurfacing along this section of SR-838/Sunrise Boulevard in Broward County.
The Scope of Work includes milling and resurfacing the existing roadway to ensure a smooth, safe, and resilient drive. Crews will upgrade signalization, install pedestrian signal upgrades, and bring sidewalk and curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. Signs and pavement markings will be replaced and upgraded to meet current standards and increase reflectivity.
Adjacent businesses and residential communities may have concerns about construction activities for the proposed project. Construction may generate air, noise, vibration, water quality, and visual impacts of a temporary nature for residents and travelers within the immediate vicinity of the project area. Maintenance of traffic issues will be a key concern once construction activities begin. Access and safety will be priorities. A Traffic Control Plan (TCP) will be developed for this project in accordance with current FDOT and FTE requirements prior to the start of construction. The TCP will address traffic control measures and phasing to minimize disruptions to traffic operations during construction to the extent possible.
