Project Purpose

The purpose of the project is to improve safety at the SR 816/Oakland Park Boulevard and NW 56th Avenue/Inverrary Boulevard intersection through signal, pedestrian, pavement marking improvements.

Project Improvements

  • Implement Flashing Yellow Arrows (FYA) for the northbound and southbound left turns.
  • Relocate pedestrian push buttons closer to the crosswalks at the northwest and northeast corners
  • Implement leading pedestrian intervals (LPI) for all crosswalks.
  • Replace existing pedestrian signals with new Accessible Pedestrian Signals (APSs).

Construction Impacts

  • Temporary lane closures and traffic shifts during construction.
  • Temporary sidewalk and crosswalk closures, with pedestrian detours provided as needed.
  • Temporary noise and dust associated with construction activities.
  • Access to adjacent businesses and properties will be maintained throughout construction.
