Advanced Wrong Way Driving Detection Systems Project For I-95 Interchange Exit Ramps

Project Limits: I-95 Northbound and Southbound Exit Ramps at SR-80/Southern Blvd I-95 Northbound Exit Ramp at Congress Avenue / Peninsula Court I-95 Northbound Exit Ramp at SR-794/Yamato Road

Anticipated Start Date: Fall 2026

Anticipated Completion Date: Fall 2027

Estimated Construction Cost: $1.5 million

Project Purpose: This project will install a Wrong Way Driving Detection System at four I-95 Interchange exit ramps. The detection systems will flash DO NOT ENTER signs to the driver and alert the Regional Transportation Management Center when a wrong way driver is detected.

Construction Impacts:

Temporary lane closures will occur during off-peak hours. Detours are required, one night per ramp, due to ramp closures for testing purposes. Pedestrian detours may be required for sidewalk closures.
