Meetings

 

 

Scope of Work and Project Improvements

  • Milling and repaving the roadway throughout the project limits to enhance infrastructure resilience and longevity.
  • Modifying the roadway to accommodate designated bicycle lanes in each direction to enhance bicyclist access and safety.
  • Constructing new median sections from Silver Beach Road to Palmetto Drive in the Town of Lake Park to enhance motorists’ safety.
  • Widening the sidewalks on the bridge over the Port of Palm Beach to construct a 10-foot shared use path to enhance pedestrian safety and cyclist travel.
  • Upgrading curb ramps and replacing sections of the existing sidewalk to improve pedestrian safety and connectivity.
  • Upgrading traffic and pedestrian signals at intersections throughout the project limits to enhance traffic flow and pedestrian access
  • Retrofitting and installing new LED lighting, including decorative lighting, to enhance motorist awareness and pedestrian visibility at night.
  • Upgrading signage and pavement markings, including installing bicycle markings, to enhance visibility and safety.

Traffic Impacts

  • Work will occur in phases to minimize impacts to the public.
  • Single-lane closures are permitted as follows:
    • 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday
    • 9:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m., Sunday night through Friday morning
    • 9:30 p.m. until 7:30 a.m., Friday night through Sunday morning
  • Sidewalk and curb ramp closures will be implemented as needed with temporary pedestrian detours.
