State Road (S.R.) 5/U.S. 1 Resurfacing, Restoration, and Rehabilitation Project

Project Improvements:

• Minor reconstruction, and milling and resurfacing the roadway throughout the project limits of S.R. 5/U.S. 1 from Belvedere Road to south of S.R. 704/Okeechobee Boulevard to enhance infrastructure resilience and safety for the community.
• Reconstructing curb ramps to meet ADA criteria and replacing portions of the existing sidewalk to improve pedestrian safety, connectivity, and use.
• Upgrading signing and pavement markings to enhance visibility and safety.
• Replacing drainage structures within driveways.
• Adding a new signalized mid-block crosswalk north of Vallette Way.
• Upgrading pedestrian signalization at Belvedere Road and Flamingo Drive and the crosswalk north of Cranesnest Way.
• Installing overhead flashing beacons within the school zone north and south of Flamingo Drive.
• Upgrading lighting to LED fixtures and installing a new light at Flamingo Drive.
