Scope of Work and Project Improvements

Enhancing bus shelters along S.R. 5/U.S. 1 with covered seating, accessibility features for riders with disabilities, and bike racks for cyclists to support multi-modal travel.
Upgrading lighting with solar security lights for improved visibility at the bus shelters.
Installing real-time bus arrival information displays for riders’ convenience and travel planning.
Upgrading sidewalks, curb ramps, pavement markings, pedestrian signals, and signage incidental to the proposed bus shelter construction within the project limits.

Single-lane lane closures along S.R. 5/U.S. 1 are permitted, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and 8:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. at the following locations:
- NE 20th Street in the City of Boca Raton
- Spanish River Boulevard in the City of Boca Raton
- Lindell Boulevard in the City of Delray Beach
- Linton Boulevard in the City of Delray Beach
- Lantana Road in the Town of Lantana
- Gregory Road in the City of West Palm Beach
- Northwood Road in the City of West Palm Beach
Construction will not take place simultaneously on both sides of the road. Work will be completed at a maximum of two bus shelters at a time.
Temporary sidewalk closures and pedestrian detours will be implemented during active construction. Please follow directional signage and proceed with caution through the work zone.
Temporary bus stops will be provided for existing bus shelter impacts as needed.
Business and residential access will be maintained at all times.
