Project Limits: SR 804 (Boynton Beach Road) from NW 3rd Street to US 1/Federal Highway 93000248 – MP 0 to MP 0.360; 93200000 – MP 8.5 to 9.136; 93900223 – MP 0.005 to 0.160; 93900224 – MP 0.244 to MP 0.363; 93900225 – MP 0.218 to MP 0.507

This Complete Streets project aims to support the revitalization of Boynton Beach Boulevard. It consists of reducing lane width, expanding the existing sidewalk on the south side of Boynton Beach Boulevard to a 15’ and to a 9’ on the north side, and retrofitting pedestrian lighting at signalized intersections. It will enhance connectivity to the Intracoastal Waterway and City Marina by adding shared bicycle lane markings on East Boynton Beach Boulevard from US 1 to East Marina Way. Shared lane bicycle markings will also be added on SW 3rd Street from Ocean Avenue to Boynton Beach Boulevard, and on Ocean Avenue from SW 3rd Street to US 1.

The in-person Public Meeting will take place at the Boynton Beach City Hall located at 100 East Ocean Avenue, Boynton Beach, FL 33435. The latest social distancing guidelines will be followed.

Start Date: SPRING 2024

Completion Date: FALL 2025

Estimated Construction Cost $6 MILLION

Scope of Work:

  • Repaving and reconstruction of existing pavement
  • Expanding existing sidewalk on south side of Boynton Beach Boulevard to 15’ and to 9’ on the north side
  • Drainage modifications to accommodate sidewalk expansion
  • Retrofitting pedestrian lighting at signalized intersections
  • Upgrading pavement markings and signs
  • Upgrading pedestrian signals

Construction Impacts:

  • Work will be scheduled in phases to minimize construction impacts.
  • Lane closures will take place for entire duration of construction with a minimum one lane open in each direction.
  • Access to businesses and private properties will be maintained at all times during construction.
