Scope of Work: Project improvements consist of testing of detectors and closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras to identify vehicular queues near railroad crossings to be able to transmit messages to connected vehicles and warn drivers about potential conflicts. The project aims to test smart technologies to help improve safety for all roadway users near railroad crossings. The CCTV cameras will be used to verify the vehicular detector is operating as intended and provide additional coverage at the four proposed locations to aid incident management at these locations. This system will additionally enhance the existing ‘DO NOT STOP ON TRACKS’ flashing beacons at the crossings.
