The in-person public meeting will be held at the City of Pahokee Recreation Complex located at 360 East Main Street, Pahokee, Florida 33476. The latest social distancing guidelines will be followed.

Estimated Construction Cost: $16.8 Million
Purpose Of Project: This Resurfacing, Restoration and Rehabilitation (RRR) project will extend the pavement service life through milling, overbuild, and resurfacing; address safety and roadside barrier deficiencies and; implement applicable Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), signing, and pavement marking upgrades.
Scope of Work:
- Repave and restripe the existing roadway within the project limits
- Correct longitudinal slopes and cross slopes where feasible
- Replace and upgrade existing curb ramps to comply with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards
- Upgrade existing guardrail bridge connections
- Reconstruct guardrail and miscellaneous asphalt pavement where impacted by other improvements
- Install approximately 1 mile of guardrail to shield steep roadside slopes along eastbound SR 700, west of SR 80
- Minor shoulder widening will be completed to increase the paved width to 5-feet at selected locations
- Upgrade signing and pavement markings
- Provide rumble strips for the roadway segment with posted speed greater than 50 miles per hour (mph)
Construction Impacts:
- Work will be done in phases to reduce the effects of construction on the community
- Temporary roadway closures with offsite detours will be required for the construction of the project and will be closely coordinated with the community and agricultural industry
- Access impacts will be minimized by the implementation of offsite detours using:
- Lakeshore Drive
- E. Main Street
- Old Conners Highway
- Mill Road
- Hatton Highway
- SR 15 (US-98, US-441, E. Main Street \ N. Main Street \ Belle Glade Road)
- SR 729 (State Market Road)
- SR 80 (US 441)
- SR 717 (Muck City Road)
