Project Improvements:
- Widen roadway pavement to the outside on I-95 southbound to lengthen the off-ramp deceleration lane
- Install speed feedback signs to provide drivers’ traveling speed in comparison to the posted speed limit
- Upgrade pavement markings and signs
- Provide a High Friction Surface Treatment on the southbound off-ramp
- Replace/relocate impacted sign structures
- Implement Wrong Way Driving Detection System on the southbound off-ramp
Construction Impacts:
- Work will be completed in phases to minimize construction impacts
- Single lane closures will be required on southbound I-95 mainline for majority of work
- Double lane closures will be required during construction of overhead sign structure on I-95 mainline and final resurfacing activities
- Ramp closures will occur Sunday through Friday (nightly) from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. (estimated duration is 20 days).
