Scope of Work:

The project improvements consist of milling and repaving the existing roadway within project limits to ensure long-term resilience, widening the shoulders to provide 4-foot to 8-foot designated bike lanes in each direction of SR A1A from south of the John D. MacArthur State Park entrance to Portage Landing North to enhance bicyclist accessibility and safety, reconstructing pedestrian sidewalk curb ramps to meet current Americans with Disability Act (ADA) standards, replacing the mast arm traffic signal system to meet current hurricane design standards to ensure motorist safety, upgrading pedestrian signals at signalized intersections to improve push button accessibility, upgrading video vehicle detection system and in-road sensors to improve traffic flow, upgrading lighting at the Lost Tree Village/Old Harbour Road intersection to enhance motorist and pedestrian visibility, upgrading pavement markings and signs to improve visibility and accessibility for motorists.
