Scope of Work:

The project improvements consist of installing train detection systems at the Florida East Coast (FEC) Railroad crossings located at the SR 816/Oakland Park Boulevard, SR 838/Sunrise Boulevard, SR 84/Marina Mile Boulevard from SR 9/I-95 to SR 5/US 1, SR 824/Pembroke Road, and SR 858/Hallandale Beach Boulevard intersections. Installing fiber optic cable, overhead dynamic message signs and other Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) devices on SR 84 between SR 9/I-95 and SR 5/US 1. Additional improvements along SR 84 will include installing of

• Microwave vehicle detection system (MVDS) in the vicinity of the FEC railway that will be connected to existing ITS cabinets at each of these corridors.
• New FDOT fiber optic cable from SR 9/I-95 to SR 5/US 1.
• Arterial dynamic message signs (ADMS), CCTV cameras, and Bluetooth devices.
