Current Construction Lane Closures for Interstate Roads in Broward County

SR 9/I-95 from south of Hollywood Boulevard in the City of Hollywood to south of Broward Boulevard in the City of Fort Lauderdale and I-595 from I-95 to SR-7 in the Town of Davie (95 Express Phase 3C)

Description: Work on this 9-mile 95 Express project includes extending the existing Express Lanes north from just south of Hollywood Boulevard to just south of Broward Boulevard in Broward County. One lane will be added, and the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane will be converted to create two Express Lanes in each direction. The number of General Use lanes will remain the same. Other project improvements include construction of I-95/I-595 Direct Connectors between 95 Express Lanes and I-595, as well as reconstruction, milling, resurfacing and widening of I-595 from SR-7 to I-95 and along I-95 from south of Hollywood Boulevard to south of Broward Boulevard. Additional work includes bridge widening along I-95 at several locations, painting of 17 bridges within project limits, I-95/SR 84 interchange modifications, Integrated Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Installation, including cameras, detectors and dynamic message signs to optimize traffic operations, tolling/gantry construction, ramp signalization implementation at the interchanges, lighting, signage and drainage installation and construction of shoulder–mounted sound walls and retaining walls. I-95 northbound, between I-595 and SR-84, has been shifted to the inside lanes to allow for widening and bridge construction operations. This pattern is anticipated to be in place through summer 2024.

I-95 in each direction, between Hollywood Boulevard and Davie Boulevard, may have up to three lanes closed, nightly as needed, 9 p.m. until 5:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. The first lane will close at 9 p.m., the second lane will close at 9:30 p.m., and the third lane will close at 10:30 p.m. and reopen at 5 a.m. All lanes will be open by 5:30 a.m.

I-95 in each direction, from Hollywood Boulevard to south of Davie Boulevard, will have shoulder closures, daily and nightly, as needed, Sunday through Thursday.

I-95 northbound between Hollywood Boulevard and Sheridan Street will have the outside lane closed nightly, as needed 8 p.m. until 5:30 a.m., and the shoulder, 7:30 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

The I-95 northbound managed lanes egress has been relocated to just south of Stirling Road. This condition is expected to be in place through late 2024.

The I-95 northbound and southbound managed lanes and the inside general-purpose lane from Ives Dairy Road to Sheridan Street may be closed nightly from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday for maintenance operations. FHP will be onsite to assist motorists.

The I-95 northbound managed lanes egress will be relocated to just south of Hollywood Boulevard through summer 2024 for roadway widening operations. As part of this operation, the I-95 northbound managed lanes were reduced to one lane to accommodate roadway widening operations.

The I-95 southbound managed lanes were reduced to one lane at Stirling Road to accommodate roadway widening operations.

The I-95 northbound managed lanes at the Broward Boulevard Park & Ride will be closed overnight, 10 p.m. until 5:30 a.m., through Friday, Feb. 9. Motorists can re-enter the express lane facility at SW 10th Street.

I-95 Southbound Full Closure Notice: The I-95 southbound lanes at Griffin Road will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, March 17 through Wednesday, March 20 for overhead sign structure removal. The first lane will close at 9:30 p.m., the second lane will close at 10:30 p.m., and all lanes will be closed by 11 p.m., reopening by 5 a.m. Traffic will be detoured via the I-95 southbound exit ramp to westbound Griffin Road, Anglers Avenue, and Stirling Road. Traffic may also be detoured via the I-95 southbound exit ramp to eastbound Griffin Road, US 1/N Federal Highway, and Stirling Road. FHP will be onsite to assist motorists. I-95 Northbound Advanced Full Closure Notice: The I-95 northbound lanes between Hollywood Boulevard and Sheridan Street will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, March 31 through Thursday, April 4 for existing sign structure removal. The first lane will close at 9:30 p.m., the second lane will close at 10:30 p.m., and all lanes will be closed by 11 p.m., reopening by 5 a.m. Traffic will be detoured via I-95 northbound exit ramp to eastbound Hollywood Boulevard, North Dixie Highway, and Sheridan Street. Traffic may also be detoured via the I-95 northbound exit ramp to westbound Hollywood Boulevard, SR 7/ US 441, and Sheridan Street to the I-95. FHP will be onsite to assist motorists. Sunday, April 7 and Monday, April 8 will be used as continency if needed.

I-95 Ramp Impacts:

The I-95 northbound to the I-595 westbound ramp will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 9 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for structural steel placement operations. Traffic will be detoured via Griffin Road, and SR 7/ US 441 to the I-595 westbound entrance ramp. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-95 northbound to I-595 eastbound and westbound ramp will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for structural steel placement operations. Traffic will be detoured via Griffin Road and SR 7/ US 441 to the I-595 entrance ramps. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-95 southbound to I-595 eastbound ramp will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday for superstructure construction operations. Traffic will be detoured via westbound I-595, and SR 7/US-441 to the I-595 eastbound entrance ramp. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-95 southbound to I-595 westbound ramp will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for shoulder work operations. Traffic will be detoured via eastbound I-595, US-1, and SR-84 to the I-595 westbound entrance ramp. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-95 southbound to eastbound and westbound I-595 ramp will be closed to traffic nightly as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday for bridge construction operations. Traffic will be detoured via southbound I-95, and SR-84 to the I-595 entrance ramps. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-95 northbound exit ramp to SR 84 will be closed to traffic nightly, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Monday, March 4 through Thursday, March 7. Traffic will be detoured via I-95 northbound to I-595 eastbound ramp, and US-1 to SR 84. FHP will be onsite to assist motorists. Monday, March 11 through Thursday, March 15 will be used as a contingency if needed.

The I-95 southbound exit ramp to westbound SR-84 will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for traffic shift operations. Traffic will be detoured via southbound I-95, Griffin Road, and SR 7/ US 441 to SR-84. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-95 southbound exit ramp to Griffin Road will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for drainage operations. Traffic will be detoured via southbound I-95, Stirling Road, and Anglers Avenue to Griffin Road. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-95 northbound exit ramp to Griffin Road will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for drilled shaft installation operations. Traffic will be detoured via I-95 northbound, I-595, US-1 and Griffin Road. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-95 northbound entrance ramp from Griffin Road will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for paving operations. Traffic will be detoured via eastbound Griffin Road, US-1 and I-595 to the I-95 northbound entrance ramp. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from Griffin Road will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for mainline traffic shift operations. Motorists traveling eastbound on Griffin Road will be detoured via eastbound Griffin Road, US-1, and Stirling Road to the I-95 southbound entrance ramp. Motorists traveling westbound Griffin Road will be detoured via Anglers Avenue, and Stirling Road to the I-95 southbound entrance ramp. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-95 northbound exit ramp to Stirling Road will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for paving operations. Traffic will be detoured via Griffin Road, US-1 and Stirling Road. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-95 northbound entrance ramp from Stirling Road will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for overhead sign structure installation and paving operations. Motorists traveling westbound Stirling Road will be detoured via Anglers Avenue, and Griffin Road to the I-95 northbound entrance ramp. Motorists traveling eastbound Stirling Road will be detoured via US-1 and, Griffin Road to the I-95 northbound entrance ramp. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-95 southbound exit ramp to Stirling Road will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for drilled shaft and column construction operations. Traffic will be detoured via southbound I-95, Sheridan Street, SR 7/US-441, and Stirling Road. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from Stirling Road will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for paving operations. Traffic will be detoured via US-1, and Stirling Road to the I-95 northbound entrance ramp. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-95 northbound exit ramp to Sheridan Street will be closed to traffic nightly as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for paving and directional bore operations. Traffic will be detoured via I-95 northbound, Stirling Road, and US-1. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-95 northbound entrance ramp from Sheridan Street will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for paving and directional bore operations. Traffic will be detoured via Sheridan Street, US-1, and Stirling Road to the I-95 northbound entrance ramp. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-95 northbound exit ramp to Hollywood Boulevard will be closed to traffic nightly as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for ITS pole installation and bore operations. Traffic will be detoured via Sheridan Street, N. Dixie Highway and Hollywood Boulevard. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-95 northbound entrance ramp from Hollywood Boulevard will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for ITS installation operations. Motorists travelling eastbound on Hollywood Boulevard will be detoured via North Dixie Highway and Sheridan Street. Motorists traveling westbound on Hollywood Boulevard will be detoured via North Park Road, and Sheridan Street. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-95 northbound exit ramp to Hallandale Beach Boulevard will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for drilled shaft installation operations. Traffic will be detoured via the Pembroke Road I-95 exit ramp, and S. Dixie Highway to Hallandale Beach Boulevard. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-95 northbound entrance ramp from Hallandale Beach Boulevard will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for ITS apron pour and conduit tie-in operations. Traffic will be detoured via Hallandale Beach Boulevard, US-441, and Pembroke Road to the I-95 entrance ramp. Signage will be in place to help motorists.

The I-95 southbound exit ramp to Hallandale Beach Boulevard will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for ITS installation operations. Traffic will be detoured via southbound I-95, Ives Dairy Road, SR 7/US-441, and Hallandale Beach Boulevard. Signage will be in place to assist motorists. Motorists traveling westbound will be detoured via SR 7/ US 441, and Hollywood Boulevard to the I-95 northbound entrance ramp. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-95 northbound exit ramp to Pembroke Road will be closed to traffic nightly as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for directional bore operations. Traffic will be detoured via Hollywood Boulevard, and US-1 to Pembroke Road. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from Pembroke Road will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for ITS and bore operations. Motorists traveling westbound on Pembroke Road will be detoured via SR 7/US-441, and Hallandale Beach Boulevard to the I-95 southbound entrance ramp. Motorists traveling eastbound on Pembroke Road will be detoured via South Dixie Highway, and Hallandale Beach Boulevard to the I-95 southbound entrance ramp. The I-95 southbound exit ramp to Pembroke Road will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for drilled shaft installation operations. Traffic will be detoured via Hallandale Beach Boulevard, SR 7/ US 441 and Pembroke Road. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-95 northbound to the I-595 westbound ramp will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed 11 p.m. until 7 a.m., Fridays and Saturdays, beginning Friday night, Feb. 2, for steel tub girder placement operations. Traffic will be detoured via Griffin Road, and SR 7/US 441 to the I-595 westbound entrance ramp. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

I-595 Traffic Impact:

I-595 in each direction, from east of US-441/SR-7 to Anglers Avenue, may have up to three lanes closed nightly as needed, 9 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. Sunday through Thursday. The first lane will close at 9 p.m., the second lane will close at 9:30 p.m., the third lane will close at 10:30 p.m. and reopen at 5 a.m. All lanes will be open by 5:30 a.m.

I-595 in each direction, from SR 7/ US 441 to I-95, will have shoulder closures, daily and nightly as needed, Sunday through Thursday.

Eastbound I-595 between SR 7 and I-95 has been shifted to the inside lanes to allow for widening and bridge construction operations. This pattern is anticipated to be in place through late 2024.

I-595 westbound and the I-95 northbound to the I-595 westbound ramp will have one lane closed nightly as needed, 9:30 p.m. until 10 a.m., Fridays, beginning Friday night, Jan. 26 for steel tub girder placement operations.

I-595 westbound and the I-95 northbound to the I-595 westbound ramp will have one lane closed nightly as needed, 9:30 p.m. until 11 a.m., Saturdays, beginning Saturday night, Jan. 27 for steel tub girder placement operations.

I-595 Ramp Impacts

The I-595 exit ramp to Griffin Road will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for flow fill drainage pipe operations. Traffic will be detoured via I-95 southbound, Stirling Road and Anglers Avenue. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-595 eastbound to I-95 northbound ramp will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for Stay in Place Form installation operations. Traffic will be detoured via I-595, US 1, and SR 84 to the I-95 northbound entrance ramp. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-595 westbound to I-95 northbound entrance ramp will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for drilled shaft operations. The SR 7/US 441 to I-595 eastbound entrance ramp will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for overhead sign structure placement operations. Traffic will be detoured via southbound SR 7, Griffin Road, and I-95 northbound to the I-595 eastbound entrance ramp. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-595 westbound to I-95 southbound ramp will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed 9 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for structural steel operations. Traffic will be detoured via westbound I-595, SR 7/ US 441, and eastbound I-595 to the I-95 southbound entrance ramp. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-595 eastbound ramp to SR 84 eastbound and the Turnpike will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for sign structure installation operations. Motorists will be detoured via the adjacent ramp to SR-84. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-595 westbound ramp to SR 7/US 441 and the Turnpike will be closed nightly, as needed 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for paving operations. Traffic will be detoured via I-595 westbound, and Davie Boulevard to the I-595 eastbound entrance ramp. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-595 eastbound entrance ramp from SR 7/US 441, the Turnpike and SR 84 will be closed to traffic nightly as needed, Sunday through Thursday. Motorists will be detoured via US 441, Griffin Road and I-95. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-595 eastbound entrance ramp from Davie Road will be closed to traffic nightly as needed, 10:30 p.m. to 5 a.m., for overhead sign structure installation. Traffic will be detoured via SR 7/US 441 northbound, Davie Boulevard eastbound, the I-95 southbound entrance ramp to the I-595 eastbound entrance ramp. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The I-595 eastbound and westbound entrance ramp from I-95 southbound may have two lanes closed nightly as needed, 9:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

The I-595 westbound entrance ramp from I-95 southbound may have one lane closed nightly as needed, 9:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

The I-595 eastbound entrance ramp from I-95 northbound may have one lane closed nightly as needed, 9:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

The I-595 westbound entrance ramp from I-95 northbound may have one lane closed nightly as needed, 9:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

SR 84 Traffic Impacts

The SR-84 westbound ramp to SR 7/US-441 and the Turnpike will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Motorists will be detoured via northbound US-441, U-turn at SW 20th Street to US-441. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The SR-84 eastbound to I-95 southbound entrance ramp will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for overhead sign structure placement operations. Traffic will be detoured via SR-84 westbound, SW 30th Avenue, Griffin Road to the I-95 southbound entrance ramp. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

SR-84 may have one lane closed in each direction nightly, as needed, 8:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

Eastbound and westbound SR 84 will have one lane closed daily as needed, 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m., Sunday through Thursday.

Westbound SR-84 may have up to two lanes closed nightly as needed, 9 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

Eastbound SR-84 may have up to two lanes closed nightly as needed, 9 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

Arterial Traffic Impacts:

Anglers Avenue, from SW 36th Street to south of SW 31st Street, will be closed to motorists through summer 2024 for bridge construction operations. Traffic will be detoured via SW 31st Street, SW 26th Terrace, and SW 36th Street. 

SW 26 Terrace at the I-595 overpass will be close to traffic nightly as needed, Sunday through Thursday, for beam setting operations. Motorists will be detoured via westbound SR-84 and SW 30th Avenue. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

SW 30 Avenue in each direction, at the I-595 over pass, will be closed to traffic overnight, 10 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for beam setting operations. Motorists will be detoured via SW 26 Terrace, and eastbound SR-84 to the U-turn movement underneath the SR-84 bridge. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

Johnson Street Full Closure Notice: Johnson Street at I-95 will be intermittently closed to traffic in each direction, nightly, as needed, 10 p.m. until 6 a.m., through Thursday, April 25 for bridge widening operations. Griffin Road Full Closure Notice: Griffin Road at I-95 will be closed in each direction, nightly as needed, 11 p.m. until 5:30 a.m., through Friday, May 31 for bridge construction operations. Motorists traveling westbound will be detoured via Old Griffin Road, Bryan Road, Stirling Road and Anglers Avenue. Stirling Road Advanced Full Closure Notice: Stirling Road at I-95 will be intermittently closed in each direction, nightly as needed, 11 p.m. until 5:30 a.m., through Friday, April 26 for bridge construction operations. Motorists traveling westbound Stirling Road will be detoured via Oakwood Boulevard, Sheridan Street and N 29th Avenue. Motorist traveling eastbound Stirling Road will be detoured via N 29th Avenue, Sheridan Street, and Oakwood Boulevard. Signage will be in place to assist motorist. Northbound SR 7/US 441 will have one lane closed daily, 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, for drilled shaft operations.

SW 30th Avenue, from NW 34th Street to Marina Mile, may have one lane closed in each direction daily, 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. and nightly, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

Griffin Road, from Old Griffin Road and Anglers Avenue, may have up to two lanes closed in each direction, nightly, 8:30 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

Stirling Road, from Anglers Avenue and SW 18th Street, may have up to two lanes closed in each direction, nightly 8:30 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

I-95 from south of Broward Boulevard to north of Commercial Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale (95 Express Phase 3A-1)

Description: Work on this 6.7-mile 95 Express project includes widening and converting the existing I-95 HOV Lanes to Managed Lanes which will result in two tolled Express Lanes in each direction; the number of General Use lanes will remain the same. I-95 Traffic Impact:

I-95 will have three lanes closed in each direction, 9 p.m. until 5:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. The first lane will close at 9 p.m., the second lane will close at 9:30 p.m. and the third lane will close at 10 p.m.

I-95 in both directions, from south of Davie Boulevard to north of Commercial Boulevard, will have intermittent shoulder and ramp shoulder closures, as needed, daily and nightly.

The I-95 northbound express lanes at the Broward Park & Ride will be closed overnight, 9 p.m. until 5:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, through March 28. Motorists can re-enter the express lane facility at SW 10th Street.

The I-95 southbound express lanes will be closed at Palmetto Park Road overnight, 9 p.m. until 5:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, through March 28. Motorists can re-enter the express lane facility south of Atlantic Boulevard.

Arterial Road Traffic Impact:

Prospect Road at I-95 will have one lane closed daily, 7 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Commercial Boulevard at I-95 may have one lane closed, 10 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.
