Current Construction Lane Closures for Interstate Roads in Broward County

September 17 - September 24, 2021

I-95 from south of Hollywood Boulevard in the City of Hollywood to south of Broward Boulevard in the City of Fort Lauderdale and I-595 from I-95 to SR-7 in the Town of Davie (95 Express Phase 3C)

I-95 Traffic Impact:

  • I-95 northbound, from the SR-84 exit ramp to just north of SR-84, has a new traffic pattern to allow for roadway and bridge construction. This pattern is anticipated to be in place through late 2021, weather permitting.

  • I-95 in each direction, from Pembroke Road to south of Davie Boulevard, may have up to three lanes closed, nightly as needed, Sunday through Thursday. The first lane will close at 9:30 p.m., the second lane will close at 10 p.m. and the third lane will close at 11 p.m. All lanes will be open by 5:30 a.m.

  • I-95 in each direction, from Griffin Road to south of Davie Boulevard, will have shoulder closures, daily and nightly, as needed, Sunday through Thursday.

I-595 Traffic Impact:

  • I-595 in each direction, from east of SR-7 (US-441) to Anglers Avenue, may have up to three lanes closed nightly as needed, Sunday through Thursday. The first lane will close at 9:30 p.m., the second lane will close at 10 p.m., the third lane will close at 11 p.m. All lanes will be open by 5:30 a.m.

  • I-595 in each direction, from SR-7 (US-441) to I-95, will have shoulder closures, daily and nightly, Sunday through Thursday.

SR-84 Traffic Impact:

  • The SR-84 westbound bridge over I-95 is in a temporary traffic pattern through spring 2022 for bridge reconstruction. SR-84 westbound traffic is diverted to the eastbound bridge, where two lanes in each direction are maintained. Please Click this link to view the detour flyer.

  • The I-95 southbound exit ramp to SR-84 eastbound is diverted to the SR-84 westbound movement through spring 2022. Motorists are diverted via SR-84 westbound, a U-turn at SW 26th Terrace and continue eastbound on SR-84; signage is in place to advise motorists. Please Click this link to view the detour flyer.

  • The SR-84 eastbound exit ramp to I-95 northbound is diverted through spring 2022. Motorists are diverted via a U-turn at SW 15th Avenue, continue westbound on SR- 84 to access the I-95 northbound entrance ramp; signage is in place to advise motorists.   • SR-84, from SW 26th Terrace to SW 15th Street, may have one lane closed in each direction nightly, as needed, 9 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday for striping operations.

  • The SR-84 ramp from south of Marina Mile to Anglers Avenue may have one lane closed in each direction nightly as needed, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday.

  • The SR-84 westbound to SR 7 and I-595 entrance ramp will be closed nightly as needed, Sunday, Sept. 19 through Thursday, Sept. 23 for overhead sign installation operations. Motorists will be detoured via SR 7 northbound, U-turn at SW 20 Street to SR 7 southbound and I-595. FHP will be onsite to assist motorists.

Ramp Impact:

  • The I-95 northbound exit ramp to SR-84 will be closed to traffic through spring 2022 for bridge construction operations. Motorists traveling on I-95 northbound wishing to access SR-84 east of I-95 will be detoured via I-595 eastbound to SR 5 northbound and SR-84 westbound. Motorists traveling on I-95 northbound wishing to access SR-84 west of I-95 will be detoured via I-595 westbound, SR 7 southbound and SR-84 eastbound; signage will be placed to advise motorists.   • The I-95 southbound exit ramp to Griffin Road will be closed to traffic overnight, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, through Thursday night, Oct. 7 for pile driving activities. Motorists will be detoured via I-95 southbound to Stirling Road westbound, Anglers Avenue northbound. FHP will be onsite to assist motorists.

  • The I-595 exit ramp to Griffin Road will be closed to traffic overnight, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, through Thursday night, Oct. 7 for pile driving activities. Motorists will be detoured via I-95 southbound to Stirling Road westbound, Anglers Avenue northbound. FHP will be onsite to assist motorists.

  • The I-95 southbound ramp, from south of Broward Boulevard to the I-595 entrance, will be closed nightly as needed, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday through Thursday night, Sept. 30 for bridgework operations. Motorists wishing to head eastbound will be detoured via the I-95 southbound exit ramp to SR-84 westbound, SR-7 (US-441) southbound and I-595 eastbound. Motorists wishing to head westbound will be detoured via the I-95 southbound exit ramp to SR-84 westbound and I-595 westbound. FHP will be onsite to assist motorists.

  • The I-595 eastbound to I-95 northbound entrance ramp will be closed to traffic nightly as needed, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, beginning Sunday, Sept. 26 for bridge painting operations. Motorists will be detoured via I-595 eastbound, US-1 northbound and SR-84 westbound to the I-95 northbound entrance ramp. FHP will be onsite to assist motorists.

  • The I-595 westbound to I-95 northbound ramp will be closed to traffic nightly as needed, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 21 through Thursday, Sept. 23 for bridge work operations. Motorists will be detoured via the I-595 westbound to I-95 southbound ramp, Griffin Road and I-95 northbound. FHP will be onsite to assist motorists.

  • Advanced Notice: The I-95 southbound to I-595 westbound ramp will be closed to traffic nightly as needed, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., beginning Monday night, Oct. 4 for beam setting operations. Motorists will be detoured via I-595 eastbound, US 1 northbound and SR 84 westbound to the I-95. FHP will be onsite to assist motorists.

  • I-595 westbound to the I-95 southbound entrance ramp has a new traffic pattern to allow for roadway and bridge construction. This pattern is anticipated to be in place through summer 2021, weather permitting.

  • The I-595 eastbound and westbound entrance ramp from I-95 southbound will have one lane closed nightly as needed, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

  • The I-595 eastbound exit ramp and the SR-7(US- 441) eastbound exit ramp to SR-84 will have the outside shoulder closed nightly as needed, 10 p.m. until 5:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

  • The I-95 northbound exit ramp to Griffin Road will have two lanes closed nightly as needed, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, through Thursday night, Sept. 30 for roadway operations.

  • The I-95 northbound and southbound exit ramp to Griffin Road will have one lane closed intermittently, nighty as needed, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, through Thursday, Sept. 23 for ITS and drill shaft installation.

  • The I-95 northbound and southbound entrance ramp from Griffin Road will have one lane closed intermittently nighty as needed, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, through Thursday, Sept. 23 for ITS and drill shaft installation.

  • The I-95 northbound and southbound exit ramp to Stirling Road will have one lane closed intermittently nighty as needed, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, through Thursday, Sept. 23 for ITS and drill shaft installation.

  • The I-95 northbound and southbound entrance ramp from Stirling Road will have one lane closed intermittently nighty as needed, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, through Thursday, Sept. 23 for ITS and drill shaft installation.

  • *Please note that ramp closures will be performed as needed per nighttime construction operations; consecutive ramps will not be closed at the same time.

Arterial Traffic Impacts:

  • Anglers Avenue, from SW 36th Street to south of SW 31st Street, will be closed to motorists through spring 2022 for bridge construction operations. Traffic will be detoured via SW 31st Street, SW 26th Terrace, and SW 36th Street.

  • SW 30th Avenue, from 34th Street to Marina Mile, may have one lane closed in each direction daily, 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. and nightly, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

  • SW 26th Terrace at the I-595 overpass will have one lane closed daily, 7 a.m. until 5 p.m., Sundaythrough Thursday. for drilling operations. Flaggers will be present to assist motorists and traffic in each direction will be maintained.

  • Westbound Taft Street at I-95 will have the right turn lane and sidewalk closed to traffic and pedestrians beginning 9 p.m., Tuesday night, Sept. 7 through 6 a.m. Friday morning, Sept. 24, for watermain relocation activities. During this operation, motorists will be able to make a right turn onto East Okomo from the general purpose lane and pedestrian traffic will be detoured to the south sidewalk along Taft Street.   • Southbound SR 7, from north of I-595 to SW 21st Street, will have two lanes closed nightly as needed, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for ITS board installation activities.


I-95 from south of Broward Boulevard to north of Commercial Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale (95 Express Phase 3A-1)

Traffic Impact:

  • I-95 will have three lanes closed in each direction, 9 p.m. until 5:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. The first lane will close at 9 p.m., the second lane will close at 9:30 p.m. and the third lane will close at 10 p.m.

  • I-95 southbound, from Broward Boulevard to Davie Boulevard, is shifted to the outside to allow for median construction.

  • I-95 northbound, from south of Davie Boulevard to south of Oakland Park Boulevard, has a new traffic pattern with traffic shifted to the outside to allow for median construction. This configuration is expected to be in place through fall 2021.

  • I-95 in both directions, from south of Davie Boulevard to north of Commercial Boulevard, will have intermittent shoulder and ramp shoulder closures, as needed, daily and nightly.

  • I-95 southbound, between Sunrise Boulevard and Davie Road, is shifted to the inside to allow for outside widening. This pattern is anticipated to be in place through summer 2022.

  • I-95 southbound Express Lanes south of Sample Road will be closed nightly, as needed, 9 p.m. until 5:30 a.m., beginning Sunday through Thursday.

  • I-95 southbound, from Sample Road to Cypress Creek Road, will have three inside lanes closed overnight, 11 p.m., until 5:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday for paving, tubular marker installation and pavement marking activities.

  • I-95 Northbound Full Closure Advanced Notice: I-95 northbound lanes at Sunrise Boulevard will be closed to traffic overnight, Monday, Sept. 27 for overhead sign structure installation. The first lane will close at 9:30 p.m., the second lane will close at 10:30 p.m., and all lanes will be closed by 11:30 p.m., reopening by 5:30 a.m. each morning. Traffic will be detoured via the northbound exit ramp to Sunrise Boulevard, Powerline Road and Oakland Park Boulevard.   • I-95 Southbound Full Closure Advanced Notice: I-95 southbound lanes at Oakland Park Boulevard will be closed to traffic overnight, Tuesday, Sept. 28 and Wednesday, Sept. 29 for overhead sign structure installation. The first lane will close at 9:30 p.m., the second lane will close at 10:30 p.m., and all lanes will be closed by 11:30 p.m., reopening by 5:30 a.m. each morning.   • Oakland Park Boulevard will undergo a full nightly closure, 10 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday for new bridge construction. Traffic will be detoured via Commercial Boulevard, N. Dixie Highway and Oakland Park Boulevard.

  • 38th Street at I-95 will undergo a full nightly closure, 10 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday for bridge construction. Traffic will be detoured via NW 10th Ave and Powerline Road. FHP will be on site to assist motorists.

  • Powerline Road at I-95 will undergo a full nightly closure, 10 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday as needed for bridge construction. Traffic will be detoured via Commercial Boulevard, N. Dixie Highway and Oakland Park Boulevard.

  • Prospect Road at I-95 will undergo a full nightly closure, 10 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday as needed for bridge construction. Traffic will be detoured via Powerline Road, Commercial Boulevard and Andrews Avenue.

  • Powerline Road at the I-95 overpass will have one lane closed daily, 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.

  • NW 19th Street at the I-95 overpass will have one lane closed, daily, 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.

  • NW 6th Street at the I-95 overpass will have one lane closed, daily, 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

  • Oakland Park Boulevard at the I-95 overpass will have one lane closed, daily, 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.

  • The I-95 northbound exit ramp to eastbound Oakland Park Boulevard will have one inside lane closed daily, 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.

  • The I-95 northbound exit ramp to Commercial Boulevard will have one lane closed daily, 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.

  • The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from Broward Boulevard to I-595 will have one outside lane closed nightly 9 p.m. until 5:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

I-95 from south of SW 10th Street in the City of Deerfield Beach to south of Glades Road in the City of Boca Raton (95 Express Phase 3B-1)

Traffic Impact:

  • I-95 will have three lanes closed in each direction nightly, as needed, Sunday through Thursday nights, with the first lane closing at 9:30 p.m., the second lane closing at 10:30 p.m., and the third lane closing at 11:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m.

  • I-95 northbound Express Lanes at Sample Road and SW 18th Street will be closed nightly, as needed, 9 p.m. until 5:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

  • I-95 southbound Express Lanes at Palmetto Park Road will be closed nightly, as needed, 9 p.m. until 5:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

  • The I-95 southbound exit ramp to Palmetto Park Road will be closed nightly, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Motorists will be detoured via I-95 southbound, Hillsboro Boulevard, Military Trail and Palmetto Park Road. FHP will be on site to assist motorists.

  • The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from westbound Palmetto Park Road will be closed nightly, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Motorists will be detoured via Military Trail and Hillsboro Boulevard. FHP will be on site to assist motorists.
