State Road (SR) 5/Federal Highway Resurfacing, Restoration and Rehabilitation (RRR) Project

Project Length: 1.58 miles

Project Limits: From 6 Avenue N. to Arlington Road

Virtual Public Workshop:

Construction Start Date: Early 2025

Anticipated Completion Date: Summer 2026

Estimated Construction Cost: $1.6 million

Scope of Work:

  • Repave the existing roadway
  • Upgrade curb ramps to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
  • Upgrade pedestrian signals at 7 Avenue N., 10 Avenue N., and 13 Avenue N. to countdown signals
  • Install Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs) and crosswalks at the north side of 6 Avenue N. (Link for more information)
  • Install raised intersection at 16 Avenue N. (Link for more information)
  • Install speed feedback signs near the curves at Wellesley Drive
  • Upgrade signage and pavement markings

Construction Impacts:

  • Work will be done in phases to reduce the impacts to the community
  • Temporary lane closures will be required
  • Pedestrian traffic will be maintained
  • Access to properties along the corridor will be maintained at all times

Public Notice: The design public meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 13, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. and will be offered in-person and virtually.

In-Person: The meeting will take place at the City of Lake Worth Beach City Hall at 7 N. Dixie Highway, Lake Worth Beach, FL 33460 and consist of a formal presentation followed by an open discussion.
