I-95 Ramp Safety Improvement Project

Project Limits: SR 9/I-95 northbound exit ramp to westbound SR 68/Orange Avenue

Anticipated Start Date: Winter 2025

Anticipated Completion Date:  Spring 2026

Estimated Construction Cost: $524 Thousand

Scope of Work:

  • Milling and resurfacing existing ramp roadway
  • Overlay ramp with high friction surface treatment to improve safety by reducing potential skidding by vehicles
  • Widen existing left shoulder from 2-feet paved to 4-feet paved creating a larger refuge area for broken-down vehicles
  • Replace and upgrade signs and pavement markings to meet current standards and increase reflectivity
  • Upgrade existing lighting to LED fixtures to improve visibility for nighttime users

Construction Impacts:

  • Northbound to Westbound Ramp closures will be permitted as follows:
    • Nighttime closure only, Sunday through Thursday, 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m, for approximately 3 weeks.
  • Detour using Northbound to Eastbound Ramp. Follow Jenkins Rd north to Loop Rd to turn back west. Approximate 1.25-mile route
  • Additional information about lane closures, detours, and pedestrian impacts will be provided in the weekly traffic report distributed by FDOT at https://www.d4fdot.com/tcfdot/TC-Lucie_Closures.asp.
