Project Limits: Bridge #860001 along State Road 5/US-1 over the Dania Canal
This project proposes the rehabilitation of the slope erosion/slope protection failure at the southwest corner using a slope protection system that is suitable for steep grades. It will replace the fender system, similar to the flared ends at the south fender.

Scope of Work:
- Replace the existing north and south navigation/marine fenders, including replacement of the timber piles and walers.
- Rehabilitate the existing slope at the southwest corner of the bridge.
Construction Impacts:
- Work will take place during the day and be sequenced to reduce the effects of construction on the community.
- The bridge will remain open for vehicular and pedestrian traffic at all times. However, lane closures along Old Griffin Rd. will be required for pile driving activities on the west side of the bridge for a period not to exceed three consecutive weeks. A temporary detour will be provided.
- Marine traffic may be impacted. Temporary channel closures may be required while driving the fender piles in place. Notifications will be sent out to marinas and homeowners with waterfront access upstream of the Dania Canal, a minimum of 14 calendar days prior to the closure.
