Project Purpose: The main purpose of this project is to enhance safety for roadway users by improving corridor lighting to address above-average nighttime crash patterns.

Estimated Construction Cost: $1.0 Million
Scope of Work:
- Replacing outdated high-pressure sodium lights with LED fixtures to provide uniform illumination and eliminate dark spots along the corridor.
- Adding supplemental light poles at crosswalks on NE 34 Court, NE 44 Street/Prospect Road, and at the existing mid-block crossing at NE 33 Street to enhance pedestrian safety.
- Restoring concrete sidewalks, curb ramps, and asphalt pavement affected by the installation of new light poles.
Construction Impacts:
- No full roadway closures are anticipated.
- Temporary lane closures may be needed during construction.
- Temporary lane closures may extend from 7:00 p.m. to noon, Sunday night through Friday noon.
- Temporary pedestrian paths and detours will be provided for work impacting existing sidewalks.
- Access to businesses and residences will always be maintained during construction.
