Scope of Work:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District Four, is upgrading the existing lighting system along SR 818/Griffin Road from SR 7/US 441 to Anglers Avenue/Ravenswood Road in Broward County. The High-Pressure Sodium (HPS) luminaires mounted on the existing poles at signalized intersections within the project limits will be upgraded to Light-emitting Diode (LED) luminaires, improving illumination levels to comply with current standards. In addition, new light poles will be installed as needed to improve illumination levels throughout SR 818 and enhance pedestrian safety at the following signalized intersections:
- SW 40th Avenue
- SW 35th Avenue
- SW 31st Avenue
- SW 30th Avenue
- SW 28th Terrace
- Anglers Avenue/Ravenswood Road
The intersection at SR 7/US 441 was included in a previous safety study, and the lighting and safety improvements were previously completed through two recent projects: FM 430801-1 and 429742-1.
Construction Impacts:
- Work will be done in phases to reduce the impacts on the community
- Temporary off-peak lane closures will be necessary
- Access to adjacent properties will be maintained at all times
