SR 804/Boynton Beach Boulevard Resurfacing, Restoration, and Rehabilitation (RRR) Project

Project Limits: State Road (SR) 804/Boynton Beach Boulevard from Orchid Grove Trail to west of Palm Isles Drive

Purpose of the Project: Repave and restripe the existing roadway to extend the service life of the pavement, enhance safety for pedestrians and bicyclists while updating crosswalks, ramps, and pedestrians signals to comply with American with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Public Meeting: Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. and will be offered in-person and virtually simultaneously.

The public meeting will take place at the Holiday Inn Express located at 2001 Ocean Drive, Boynton Beach, Florida 33426.

The public meeting will consist of a formal presentation followed by an open discussion. Staff will be available to answer questions and provide assistance. Comments and questions will be answered in the order received. If your question is not answered during the event, a response will be provided in writing following the meeting. Questions and comments may also be submitted prior to the meeting by contacting the Project Manager.

Anticipated Start: Winter 2026

Anticipated Completion: Summer 2027

Estimated Construction Cost: $2.4 million

Scope of Work:

  • Repave the existing roadway to improve the resiliency of our infrastructure.
  • Replace and upgrade signs and pavement markings to meet current standards and increase reflectivity.
  • Restripe the road to provide four-foot wide bike lanes to accommodate cyclists who wish to use the roadway.
  • Install green striping on bike lanes adjacent to turn lanes to increase safety for cyclists.
  • Upgrade pedestrian curb ramps to comply with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
  • Replace the pedestrian signals at the Hagen Ranch Road intersection with countdown pedestrian signals, (which show the number of seconds left to cross the street) to improve safety for pedestrians.

Construction Impacts:

  • Work will be done in phases to reduce the effects of construction on the community.
  • Single and double lane closures (one direction at a time) will be required for paving operations and will take place during off peak times.
  • Access to properties along the corridor will be maintained during construction.
