Project Limits: State Road (SR) 5/US 1/South Dixie Highway from Belvedere Road to SR 704/Okeechobee Boulevard
Purpose of the Project: To extend the service life of the pavement, enhance roadway safety, improve operating characteristics of the corridor, and to address Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) deficiencies to promote a safer environment to all modes of transportation.
Public Meeting: Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. and will be offered in-person and virtually simultaneously.
The public meeting will take place at the Norton Museum of Art: Korman Room located at 1450 South Dixie Highway, West Palm Beach, Florida 33401.

The public meeting will consist of a formal presentation followed by an open discussion. Staff will be available to answer questions and provide assistance. Comments and questions will be answered in the order received. If your question is not answered during the event, a response will be provided in writing following the meeting. Questions and comments may also be submitted prior to the meeting by contacting the Project Manager.

Estimated Construction Cost: $3.9 million
Scope of Work:
- Repave and restripe the existing roadway
- Construct a new signalized crosswalk just north of Vallette Way
- Upgrade lighting at the signalized intersection of:
- Install school zone with overhead flashing beacons in the vicinity of Flamingo Drive
- Upgrade pedestrian signalization
Construction Impacts:
- Single lane closures will occur during non-peak hours
- Nighttime detours will occur within the project limits
- Access to properties along the corridor will be maintained at all times
- Work will be done in phases to reduce the effects of construction on the community
