Project Limits: State Road (SR) A1A/South Ocean Boulevard from south of Lake Avenue to north of Ibis Way
Project Purpose: The Resurfacing, Restoration and Rehabilitation (RRR) project will extend the service life of the pavement, enhance roadway safety, and improve operating characteristics of the corridor.
A 2nd Public Meeting Was Held: Thursday, June 15, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. The public meeting was conducted both in-person and virtually simultaneously.
The in-person public meeting took place at the Tideline Ocean Resort, located at 2842 South Ocean Boulevard, Palm Beach, FL 33480, doors opened at 5:30 p.m.
The virtual public meeting was held via GoToWebinar.
Participants attended in-person and virtually. The public meeting consisted of a formal presentation followed by an open discussion. Staff were available to answer questions and provide assistance. Comments and questions were answered in the order received. Questions not answered during the event, received a response via writing following the meeting. Questions and comments were also submitted prior to the meeting by emailing the Project Manager.

Estimated Construction Cost: $3.5 Million
Scope of Work:
- Repave the existing roadway
- Widen the paved shoulder from 3-feet to 5-feet, and mark it as a designated bike lane
- Total existing shoulder width remains unchanged at 6-feet
- Replace the existing asphalt sidewalk with a 6-foot concrete sidewalk
- Upgrade pedestrian curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards
- Upgrade signing and pavement markings
- Upgrade lighting, and pedestrian signals at Lake Avenue, at the mid-block crossing of Raymond Floyd Golf Course, and at Phipps Ocean Park
- Improve drainage as needed
Construction Impacts:
- Work will be done in phases to reduce the effects of construction on the community
- Day time Lane closures on SR A1A will be required
- Nighttime lane closures in the area of lake avenue intersection will be required
- Roadway flaggers are required to maintain traffic during active lane closures
- Access to businesses and residences will be maintained at all times
- No detours are necessary
