Project Limits: State Road (SR) 736/Davie Boulevard from SR 9/Interstate 95(I-95) to SR 5/US 1
Project Purpose: To enhance safety and mobility by leveraging advanced ITS technologies to improve connectivity and prevent incidents. This project aligns with the community’s vision for a more connected and safer transportation system that enhances quality of life.
Anticipated Construction Start: Spring 2026
Anticipated Completion End: Spring 2027
Estimated Construction Cost: $3 million
Scope of Work:
- Installation of ITS equipment including fiber optic cable, Bluetooth devices at major intersections, and Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras to provide 100% coverage of the project limits.
- These ITS improvements will ensure the Regional Transportation Management Center (RTMC) has the best data possible for FDOT and local partners to dispatch road rangers, update Traffic 511, and notify the public of traffic conditions and travel times via overhead signs (known as Arterial Dynamic Message Signs or ADMS.)

Construction Impacts:
- No full roadway closures are anticipated
- Temporary lane closures may be needed during construction
- All temporary lane closures will occur at night or from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Access to businesses and residential properties will be maintained at all times during construction
