Project Limits: State Road (SR) 816/Oakland Park Boulevard from Rock Island Road to East of NW 31 Avenue
Project Purpose: The Resurfacing, Restoration and Rehabilitation (RRR) project will extend the service life of the pavement, enhance roadway safety, and improve operating characteristics of the corridor.
A Public Meeting Was Held: Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. The public meeting was conducted both in-person and virtually simultaneously.
The in-person public meeting was held at the City of Lauderdale Lakes/Educational and Cultural Center, located at 3580 W Oakland Park Boulevard, 2nd Floor, Lauderdale Lakes, Florida 33311, doors open at 5:30 p.m.
The virtual public meeting was held via GoToWebinar.
Participants attended in-person and virtually. The public meeting consisted of a formal presentation followed by an open discussion. Staff were available to answer questions and provide assistance. Comments and questions were answered in the order received.

Anticipated Construction Start Date: Fall 2025

Scope of Work:
- Repave and restripe the existing roadway within the project limits.
- Update deficient curb ramps/detectable warning surfaces to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to enhance safety for all pedestrians.
- Improve access to bus stops and add landing pads where missing to improve transit connectivity.
- Upgrade signing and pavement markings.
- Modify existing signals to increase signal visibility and reduce rear-end crashes.
- Modify signal timing to improve efficiency and maximize throughput capacity.
- Update corridor lighting to comply with current required illumination levels.
Construction Impacts:
- Work will be done in phases to reduce the effects of construction on the community.
- Temporary lane closures will be required:
- A single lane on both sides of the roadway can be closed any time during the day except within 600-feet of signalized intersections.
- Two lanes can be closed only at nighttime from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. except within 600-feet of signalized intersections.
- Within 600-ft of signalized intersections, a single lane can be closed only at nighttime from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. and two lanes can be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Resurfacing will be done during nighttime hours using one-lane or two-lane closures.
- Access to businesses and residences will be always maintained.
- No detours are expected.
