Public Meeting: The Public Meeting was held on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at 6:00 PM, and was offered in two different formats at the same time: virtual and in-person.

The in-person public meeting took place at the Hampton Inn Fort Lauderdale, located at 250 N Andrews Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301. The latest social distancing guidelines were followed.
Both formats consisted of a formal presentation followed by an open discussion.

PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS
- Repaving the existing roadway
- Replacing of existing failing paver crosswalks with regular asphalt
- Replacing and upgrading existing curb ramps to comply with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards
- Upgrading signing and pavement markings
- Upgrading pedestrian signals and detectors
- Install Adaptive Traffic Signal System at intersections to enhance traffic mobility
SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS
- NW 42 Avenue: Modifying the existing median opening to an eastbound left-turn only (remove the existing southbound left-turn)
- SR 7/US 441: Lengthen the eastbound left-turn lanes
- 31 Avenue and 27 Avenue: Lengthen the eastbound and westbound left-turn lanes
- 24 Avenue: Lengthen the westbound left-turn lane
- Signalization upgrades consisting of the following:
- Adding additional signal heads with backplates to improve signal visibility
- Replacing 5-section signal heads serving left-turn movements in the eastbound and westbound directions with 4-section signal heads that display flashing yellow arrow
- New roadway lighting along the north side of Broward Boulevard between SR 7/US 441 and 27 Avenue
- Replacing existing lighting fixtures to Light Emitting Diode (LED) fixtures
Construction Impacts:
- Temporary lane closures on Broward Boulevard will be needed during off-peak hours and short-term detours of side street traffic will be necessary for replacement of the paver crosswalks
- Off-peak hours are from 9:00 PM to 6:30 AM, Sunday through Thursday nights
- Access to adjacent properties will be maintained at all times
